The diversity of Arctic hydrozoans in Norway is still poorly understood, despite the fact that these animals are important habitat-formers (some new habitats in Norwegian waters have been described based on them!).<\/p>\n

Rhizocaulus verticillatus is the only species of Rhizocaulus in Norway... or is it not?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

For example, only 1 species of the hydrozoan genera <\/span>Symplectoscyphus<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>Rhizocaulus<\/span><\/i> are supposed to occur in the country, <\/span>but<\/span> preliminary<\/span> data on genetic variation <\/span>suggest<\/span> there\u2019s<\/span> more <\/span>than<\/span> meets<\/span> the<\/span> eye.<\/span>\u200b<\/p>\n
